  • Business Begins

    1910

    W. Theo Proctor, Sr. opens an automobile business, selling two cadillacs in his first year.

  • Proctor And Proctor is Created

    1918

    Proctor And Proctor is created when Theo leaves to serve his country in World War I and his brother, Earl, joins the business.

  • Proctor & Proctor Incorporated

    1929

    Proctor & Proctor, Inc., is incorporated, making it one of the oldest corporations on record with the State of Florida

  • Overcoming the Great Depression

    1930

    The Great Depression and World War II hit. Automobile factories are converted to wartime equipment manufacturing. Proctor begins selling a variety of goods to stay afloat.

  • Julian Proctor Sr. Join the Company

    1945

    Julian Proctor Sr., son of Earl, joins the company after serving in World War II.

  • W. Theo Proctor Jr. Joins the Company

    1957

    W. Theo Proctor Jr., son of Theo Sr., joins the company after returning from duty at Naval Air Station Key West.

  • Proctor Acquires Honda

    1972

    Proctor acquires Honda franchise, offering the small, gas-saving cars that were in demand.

  • W. Theo Proctor III Joins

    1979

    W. Theo Proctor III, son of Theo Jr., joins the company.

  • Martin Proctor Joins & Honda Facility Opens

    1985

    Martin Proctor, Sr. joins the company, and Proctor opens an exclusive Honda facility.

  • Proctor Acquires Acura

    1991

    Proctor acquires Acura, Honda’s luxury brand.

  • Proctor Sells GM Franchise

    2008

    Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac, GMC, and HUMMER are sold. The next year Proctor opens a Subaru dealership.

  • Proctor Hits a Century in Business

    2010

    Proctor celebrated 100 years, making it one of the oldest businesses in Tallahassee.
